Privacy Policy

The short version

  • • Apple Intelligence runs on-device — no data leaves your iPhone.
  • • Cloud AI (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT) only activates when you add keys or subscribe.
  • • We don't track you. No analytics SDKs, no ad networks, no data brokers.
  • • Your visual memory and chat history stay on your device.
  • • Subscriptions are processed by Apple — we never see your payment info.

Information we collect

Ouro is designed to minimize data collection. We collect:

  • Nothing automatically. No telemetry, no crash analytics without consent, no usage tracking.
  • Subscription status from Apple's App Store — used to enable paid features.
  • Support emails you send us — used only to reply to your inquiry.

Information stored on your device

  • Visual memory: Observations, photos, and transcripts you capture. Stored locally on your iPhone. Never uploaded unless you explicitly share.
  • Chat history: Conversations with the AI assistant, stored locally.
  • Settings: API keys, preferences, output mode — stored in iOS secure storage on your device only.

Cloud AI providers

When you use cloud AI features (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT), your messages and camera frames are sent directly from your device to that provider's servers. Ouro does not relay, store, or inspect this traffic. Each provider has its own privacy policy governing that data:

If you subscribe to Ouro Plus or Pro, cloud AI is routed through our secure backend (Cloudflare Workers at api.ouro.vision). The backend holds the provider keys and meters your monthly credit allowance. We log the timestamp, model used, token count, and originating Ouro user ID for every paid request — these are required for billing and abuse prevention. We do NOT store the content of your prompts, images, or the AI's responses. Logs are retained for 30 days then deleted.

Camera, microphone, and Bluetooth

Ouro uses your iPhone's camera and microphone (or Meta Ray-Ban glasses camera and microphone) only when you explicitly activate a session. Footage is processed in real-time and is not retained unless you ask Ouro to remember it (visual memory). Bluetooth is used only to communicate with paired smart glasses.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Ouro receives only your subscription status and tier — never your payment information, Apple ID, or purchase history beyond what we need to verify the subscription is active.

Your rights

Because we store almost nothing, most data rights (delete, export, correct) are fulfilled by:

  • Deleting the app (wipes all local data)
  • Managing your subscription in Apple ID settings
  • Emailing [email protected] for anything else

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "last updated" date above when anything changes. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes means acceptance of the updated policy.
